A short note, one scan away.

A text QR code shows a short message on the phone's screen, with no website needed. Use it for opening hours, a welcome note, instructions or a code word, and change the words whenever you like.

Shows a short note when scanned, like opening hours, a discount code or a welcome message.

What a text QR code does

A scan opens a small, clean page on createqr.ai that shows your text. There is nothing to install and no website to build. It is the simplest way to put a few lines of information on a sticker, a sign or a product.

Because the code is dynamic, the text lives on our page and not in the pattern. That keeps the pattern simple however long the note is, up to 2,000 characters, and it lets you rewrite the message after printing.

How to make one in three steps

  1. Write your text. Keep it short enough to read on a phone at a glance.
  2. Style the code and add a frame such as “Scan for opening hours”.
  3. Save and download once the scan test passes.

Ideas for text codes

  • Opening hours on the shop door, updated before every holiday.
  • A welcome note in a holiday rental, with the checkout time and where the bins go.
  • Care or assembly instructions on a product label.
  • A code word at an event or a counter, changed every week.

Change it as often as you like

Opening hours change for holidays, a code word changes every week, a rental's checkout time changes with the season. Each edit in My codes takes effect on the next scan, and the printed sticker stays where it is. If a note is not needed for a while, pause the code and turn it back on later.

Text code or link code?

Choose text when a few lines are enough and you have no web page for them. Choose a link code when the information already lives on your website, or when it needs pictures, a menu or a form. Both can be changed after printing, and both count their scans.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Lead with the most important line. Many people read the first sentence and stop.
  • Do not put secrets in it. Anyone who scans the code can read the text.
  • Keep it current. A text code is easy to update, so change the hours before the holiday, not after.
  • Tell people what they get. “Scan for today's code word” works better than a bare pattern.

Questions people ask before they print.

Print it once. Change it any time.

The code on your menu, poster or business card never has to change. What it opens can, as often as you like.

Your link changes. Your code stays.
